Computers in Maintenance
"Who said they needed this report?"
The days of handwritten repair orders are quickly disappearing and computers are becoming the norm in most maintenance facilities. Technicians are using computers for equipment diagnostics and also when completing repair orders. One of the major benefits of a maintenance software program is the ability to produce precise reports. There are numerous reports that can be gathered quickly, for example; labor hours, parts inventory and purchasing, tire tread lifespan, and warranty claims. The key to a successful reporting process is the use of Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS). This session will cover the use of technology and VMRS in maintenance.
